Thanks for a very fine presentation at the POWA conference last weekend. Enjoyed it not just an outdoor writer, but especially as a retired h.s. and community college biology teacher!

yesterday, we found a baby squirrel crying in our yard by a tree; unfortunately his mother had been killed. his eyes weren't open yet and there was a storm coming, so i took him in and warmed him up, and gave him something to drink. (a mixture of salt, sugar, and water). we called the game commission and were so grateful to find this place that could help the little guy. i hope that he's doing well and i just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate what you are doing for these animals.. please feel free to update us on the baby squirrel, we named him chester. Smile i hope that he makes a speedy recovery!

I saw your organization on Pennsylvania Outdoor show on TV. I have always wanted to be a wolf rehabilitator since I was 15 and saw Growing Up Wolf on Animal Planet yet finances prevent me from going somewhere with wolves. I hope that someday when I am through with college I could come out to the Poconos and work with you guys. My love for wildlife shall never die. If you have ANY information as to any place I could work or help out please let me know. I am graduated from high school and have plenty of time on my hands.

We just wanted to write and tell you how helpful Barbara Miller was to us in helping to rescue three little possum babies. She was nuturing and reassuring to both my children and it was a real learning experience for all of us. I thank you for the wonderful work all of you do to save animals and god bless you!

Late this evening (08-08-09), I found myself desperately searching the internet trying to find a wildlife rescue organization to take in a newly hatched red finch that I found in the middle of a street in Easton. It was weakly chirping and trying to carry itself along on tiny, featherless wings and it's eyes were yet too young to open but I saw it's determination to try to help itself. Although I felt my search would probably be futile, I became instantly determined to try to find help for this helpless but brave little soul. What a God-send it was to find Kathy's contact information and even more so, to not hear an answering machine pick up the telephone. Kathy showed great concern and compassion for this tiny songbird and asked me to bring it to her. Gratefully, I accepted the driving directions and immediately drove there with my tiny co-pilot chirping out directions...lol. A kind gentleman waved me into the driveway and transferred this hungry hatchling from an old nest I had turned into it's temporary nursery to a cleaner and warmer home. He heard the hatchling begging for food so he hurried in for the task. It is only now after I have returned home that I've had the time to review Kathy's website and learn of the damage her center suffered from a recent tornado. God bless Kathy's caring and compassionate soul and all those that help and support her in her efforts to watch over even the tiniest of God's creatures. By the way, Kathy...I named this little creature "Tit' Oiseaux" (Pronounced tee-wah-so) which is Cajun French for "Little Bird" and is the song title to one my culture's oldest and most beloved lullabyes. You have earned my support, respect and gratitude. I will tell all I know of your Center.

Thank you to Barbara Miller for helping us to rescue an orphaned Mourning Dove in Alburtis, PA. We were so impressed with the care and speed at which she was able to help us save this tiny little life!!

Kathy and Eric - my thoughts are with you as you recover from today's storm. I'm sure the last thing you are doing is reading on-line messages, but when you do have a minute to breathe, know that people far and wide are with you and supporting everything you do for wildlife. All the best, Kelly

Excellent work by Barbara Miller saving the lives of 7 ducklings in our neighbors' pool. Ma Duck got her babies into the pool but the babies could not get out and would have died from hypothermia had they not been rescued. Bravo!Wink

thanks to barbara miller who came to our pool and rescued seven ducklings from hypothermia. she was sadly unable to capture the mother duck who was pretty scary!
Barbara lost her cell phone diving into the pool to save the ducklings. she was fantastic!

Thanks so much for taking in the baby racoon we found last night on the 4 lane highway in Drums. It was frightening to watch the cars going right over him, thank goodness he was so small he cleared the under carriage of the cars and was not hit. We hope there isn't any medical problems and happy to say we have a donation on it's way to your great center! Bless you people for caring for those helpless creatures.

We were at the Open House on Sunday, June 14. It was great. We are so glad to see that the screech owl that we brought to you in May is doing well. You do great work.

A huge thank you for taking an injured opossum on Mon, 6-15-09 with the possible jaw injuries. I didn't think she was going to make it--(We are still saying prayers for her). There are NO other facilities that I am aware of that are like your Rehab Center. We are in awe of the facility itself, in combination with your educational knowledge, but most of all your life-long committment to save all the lives of the animals who are taken in by you. You have saved other wild orphens from us in the past, and we hope to possibly repay you in some small way in the near future. Thank you is an understatement. ~~Gale & Kenny

I am glad you guys are around. A baby fawn was hit by a car and is on its way there now. I hope you can help her. The state police was going to come and shoot it. I don't believe in that so it makes me happy that there is a place around that helps the wildlife. Thank You for being here!Smile

Resently my husband,Vince, and I added a resident ( red tailed hawk) to your rehabilitation center.
With a severly injuried wing, it made it impossible to fly.
Vince would check on the eawk from time to time keeping track of its progress. After a month of care and rehabilitation , from your center, the 25+ or - yr old red tail is going to be released into his original habitate.
Just wanted to say Thanks for the great care.

As October Gently rolls in and the Vibrant Colors of Fall begin to take shape we are once again reminded of the circle of life. This particular circle of life pertains to Mother Nature herself. There really is no better part of the country to witness this Majestic Masterpiece than the Northeast and in particular The Great Pocono Mountains of Northeast PA. You simply can't talk about the month of October without bringing up "Haunted Happenings" as Halloween is the holiday of the month. Check out the various Pocono Spooktacular Events for the month of October.

This morning on 9/4/08 the girls at Young Medical Spa located an injured bunny on the side of route 309 South. We weren't sure if he was attacked or hit by a car, but the bunny seemed to be injured. It broke our hearts so we had to do something about it! We sent Bunny to Wright vet hospital for evaluation, they informed us that our little friend is being sent to you guys at the pocono wildlife rehab center. We have heard remarkable things about your facility and we hope Bunny 9/4 has a speedy recovery. You can update us on Bunny if you like through email. Thank you so much for caring for animals as the staff at Young Medical Spa are huge animal lovers!!Smile Give Bunny a little pat on the head for us and tell him to stay strong - we are pulling for him!
